Parole (adjective) – When someone is considered “out on parole” that person has been released from imprisonment under the conditions that they remain on good behavior and don’t break the law. If a person violates their parole, then they could be sent back to prison to finish out the remainder of their sentence.

  • I couldn’t believe Margaret got released on parole after only six months.
